Section 01 — Agreement Overview

Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Egypt Discovery Guide website. By accessing this site, you agree to comply with these terms.

Agreement Foundation

How these terms apply to your visit

Egypt Discovery Guide is a non-commercial editorial portal offering travel guides for the independent traveller into Egypt. The site covers coastal resorts, desert routes, heritage walks, and the Nile valley through first-person field reporting and practical logistics advice.

When you open any page on this website, read an article, or follow a link from our guides, you are using a service that we maintain voluntarily and free of charge. These terms set out the rules for that use: what you may do with our content, what conduct is prohibited, how liability is limited, and how disputes would be handled if they ever arose.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the website. Where this document refers to "we," "us," or "our," it means Egypt Discovery Guide. Where it refers to "you," it means the individual visitor currently reading these terms.

Section 02

Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including written guides, photographs, illustrated maps, and layout design — is the property of Egypt Discovery Guide unless otherwise stated on the page where it appears.

Applies To

Articles, images, maps, page structure, and the editorial voice of our egypt travelling guides.

Usage Matrix Permitted vs. Prohibited
Personal Reading

You may read, bookmark, and share individual guide links with friends and travel companions for non-commercial planning.

Quotation

Short excerpts for review, commentary, or educational discussion are acceptable when accompanied by a visible attribution to Egypt Discovery Guide and a link back to the original page.

Commercial Use

Reproducing, distributing, or republishing our content for commercial purposes — including on advertising-supported blogs, aggregator sites, or paid travel services — requires written permission from us first.

Bulk Scraping

Automated extraction of articles, images, or metadata for redistribution is not permitted. If you need structured data for a research project, contact us and we will discuss it.

Section 03

User Conduct

You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes. This is a reading resource, not a platform for user-generated content, but the rule still applies to how you interact with our pages, our server, and any contact forms or email correspondence you send us.

We do not operate comments, forums, or account registration, which means most conduct rules apply to the technical layer: do not attempt to overload the server, reverse-engineer the site structure, or use automated tools to degrade performance for other readers.

Prohibited Activities

  • Transmitting harmful or offensive material

This applies to any email, form submission, or message you send to our editorial inbox. Abusive, threatening, or defamatory correspondence is not acceptable.

  • Disrupting site operation

This includes denial-of-service attempts, scripted scraping at high volume, or tools designed to interfere with how the pages load for human readers.

  • Using the site for unlawful purposes

Any activity that violates Egyptian law or the law of the jurisdiction from which you are accessing the website is prohibited under these terms.

  • Misrepresenting the source of our content

Presenting our travel guides as your own work, or stripping attribution when sharing excerpts, is a breach of both this conduct rule and the intellectual property section above.

Section 04

Disclaimer of Liability

The information provided on this site is for general informational purposes only. We are a small editorial team writing about places we have visited, and our travel guides reflect conditions and observations from specific dates. Coastal access, transport schedules, trail markings, and local regulations change without notice.

While we strive for accuracy in every article, we make no guarantees regarding the completeness or reliability of the information. A bay that was open for swimming last spring may be under environmental protection this year. A desert track we describe as passable may require a permit or a local guide by the time you arrive.

Use the travel guides at your own risk, and verify critical decisions — ferry timetables, border crossings, health precautions, and road conditions — with official sources before you commit to a plan.

Section 05

Limitation of Damages

Egypt Discovery Guide is not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from your use of the website or the information contained within it. This includes, but is not limited to, travel disruptions or health issues during your journey.

Because our content is free and non-commercial, we cannot accept responsibility for the financial consequences of travel decisions made on the basis of our articles. If a guide leads you to a coastal area that turns out to be closed, or a route description that no longer matches the road network, the cost of adjusting your plans is yours, not ours.

Where local law does not allow the exclusion of certain liabilities, those exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by that law.

Sections 07 — 09

Administration, enforcement, and updates

Section 07

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Egypt. Any disputes arising from the use of this website will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Cairo.

Our editorial office is based in the Zamalek district of Cairo. If a formal dispute could not be resolved through direct correspondence, it would be handled in the Egyptian legal system under Egyptian jurisdiction.

Section 08

Termination of Access

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the website at our discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms.

In practice this means blocking an IP address that has been scraping content at volume, refusing correspondence from someone who has sent abusive messages, or removing access for any automated system that degrades the site for human readers. Because we do not run accounts, termination is technical rather than account-based.

Section 09

Modifications to Terms

We may update these terms of service at any time. Your continued use of the site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

When we make a material change — a new liability clause, a revised governing-law section, or a shift in how external links are handled — we will note the review date in the document index above. Routine clarifications and formatting fixes may not trigger a new date, but the current version on this page is always the one that applies to your visit.
